A New Year's celebration over the Thames in London.

Here's a way of making lemonade out of a lemon, or wine from milk during a snowstorm: Consider this message from downtown Providence's French restaurant, Pot au Feu, run by the ever-flamboyant and bow-tied Bob Burke:

"FREE BREAD & MILK*
The Final Insult of the depraved and despised year of 2008 is a snowstorm on New Year's Eve.

"During the storm Pot au Feu is offering FREE BREAD &MILK - which is near and dear to every Rhode Islander.

"Important - The bread is always free at Pot au Feu and A COMPLIMENTARY GLASS OF WINE CAN BE SUBSTITUTED FOR THE MILK*.''

But many might prefer solitary drinking this year....

Liked the photo of New Year's Eve in London. That's where my wife and I will be ( virtually ) spending this evening. Watching the Beeb's coverage of the festivities on and near the Thames. I ( really ) spent two New Years Eves in London when I was in the Air Force. Watching the fun on the telly's the next best thing.
