Windpower, recession or not; tax-scofflaw liberals

You have to give Massachusetts Gov. Patrick a lot of credit for taking the long view. In the midst of a recession, with all those desperate demands for help, he realizes that the state must deal with its grotesque fossil-fuel dependence -- because it's the right thing to do to strengthen the state's economy, not to mention improve its natural evironment.

Patrick says he wants the state to be producing 2,000 megawatts of wind electricity annually by 2020, enough to power 800,000 homes (perhaps housing 2 million people).

That would be a huge increase from the less than seven megawatts of windpower being produced annually now, but with all the wind on the Bay State's coasts and ridgelines, and ever more efficient windpower technology, entirely doable.

The governor is showing he is a leader for the long term -- for now, anyway!

The cold of the next few days should serve to remind people of the fossil-fuel problem. Nothing like being jobless and getting a $500 heating-oil bill.

XXX

I love these liberal Democrats, such as Al Franken and Treasury Secretary-designate Timothy Geithner, who so often are revealed to have not paid a lot of the taxes they owe. They're far too busy and important... And I love how they so often have illegal-alien housekeepers working for them, as did Mr. Geithner.

And there's the relentless tax-dodging Congresman Charles Rangel, conveniently chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, which oversees tax legislation!

They remind me of the gay anti-homosexual Republicans.
