There is nothing much more New England than a diner, some would argue. In this case, it's a 1947 Worcester Lunch Car version on Elmwood Avenue in South Providence. Yet, the Liberty Elm Diner has a modern Yankee spin: women-owned, use of local veggies and preservative-free meats, and a percentage of the profits goes to buy Dutch-Elm-disease-resistant trees for the neighborhood. And there's music on Sundays.
