The aftermath of the Wall Street bombing of Sept. 16, 1920, which killed 38 people and injured 400. Officials never determined for sure who perpetrated this attack, although some federal officials blamed it on Italian anarchists (shades of the Sacco and Venzetti case, in Massachusetts during the 1920s). Let us hope that investors cheated by Bernie Madoff and other Wall Street con men operating in the recently ended-with-a-crash Gilded Age don't get that angry.
