Photo and commentary by WILLIAM MORGAN

The angel stands on a Saturday on Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge, across the street from Harvard Yard. No explanation, only silence and complete lack of movement.

Until someone deposits a coin or a bill in the blue glass jar. Then the winged creature moves slowly and deliberately in a sort of heavenly version of Thai Chi.

Part Marcel Marceau mime and part refugee from an Augustus Saint-Gaudens memorial, the mysterious angel adds another delightful element to the quirky urban mosaic of Harvard Square.

Are you sure that this isn't Chiefy
hiding in Boston, in drag no less...

After all there were times when Frank thought he was a heavenly angel....

Just what I need after last week's disaster at Fenway: To see yet another Angel anywhere near Boston. Maybe Papelbon could get this one out.
